Can I replace a character in Active Directory merge fields?

Yes you can replace a character in an Active Directory field with another character by using the following commands in the field prefix {r=replace=new} in the disclaimer/signature template, where in r=replace, replace is the character to be replaced, and in =new, new is the character to be added.

For example to replace the character , from the telephone merge field ###-###-####, #### with the character x do the following:

  1. Open the Policy Patrol Administration Console and open your signature template.
  2. Edit the signature and add the following to your telephone prefix merge field: Example: %[{r=,=x}]Telephone number[]%
