Licensing or licenses is or are grayed out

Licensing or licenses is or are grayed out

Solution

Licensing is grayed out if you are accessing the Policy Patrol installation via remote administration. If you are not using remote administration and Licensing is grayed out on the Policy Patrol server, then you need to make a change in the registry. To do this, follow the next instructions:

  1. Go to Start > Run and enter Regedit. Click OK.
  2. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Red Earth Software\Policy Patrol\<version>\Computers.
  3. Click on the Computer name in the list. In the right pane you will now see a registry key called 'IsLocal'. Double-click on the Key. In Value Data you should enter a 1. Click OK.
  4. Now close the Policy Patrol Administration console and open it again.

Licensing should now no longer be grayed out.
